Classes are usually 4 weeks in length when OSHA 30 is provided, 3 weeks in length without OSHA. Class is typically Monday – Friday and normally runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM but the end time may vary depending on guest speakers, activities and programming variations.

We strive to provide our training at no cost to the participant. Our funding comes from contractors, private company donations, as well as self-funded programming. Tribal divisions and program grants have also sponsored our Trainings. There is no cost to you to attend.

Orientation is often done at an in-person meeting but may be able to be done virtually in some cases. There you can expect to go over the rules for our classes and programming, we cover expectations, our code of conduct and covid policy as well as a photo release authorization. Some trainings also require a pre-training drug screen.

If you have those certifications and they are not expired, provide us with copies of your certifications and we may be able to excuse you from that portion of the class. If your OSHA is 3 or more years old, we would recommend you do get a refresher.

Not each class offers lodging, several factors determine when we are able to offer lodging. When it is offered, is it only offered to those residing further than 45 miles away of have legitimate obstacles to commuting daily. If lodging is available during a specific class, that information will be included with the class posting.

We understand the importance of a strong family connection, and also understand that being away from family for extended periods of time may be difficult. When the program is providing lodging assistance, the short answer is no. The length of the training, confines of a hotel room combined with having your family present make it difficult for you to focus on putting in the work necessary to gain benefit from our programming.

When possible, daily coffee/water service is provided. Generally something is provided for a morning and noon-time meal but when these are not offered, the training will note that meals are “on your own”. Stipends may be provided at some classes, but it is not always incorporated into each class. When it is included, that information will be noted in the posting.

One (1) excused absence is allowed as along as you communicate with the instructors in advance. We will try to help you make up the missed content to catch you up but it may be necessary for you to do some work outside of class. Missing too much content can result in not graduating from the class.

If you let your instructor(s) know in advance, your tardiness will be excused. Excessive tardiness can result in not graduating from the program and could even result in being terminated from the program. Excessive tardiness is defined as 3 tardies at the start of each day total or 2 tardies in a row. Coming back late from break or lunch without advanced authorization is also considered a tardy but is not counted as the tardies listed above. Break and lunch tardies are addressed as a group activity.

Regardless of the reason for you not graduating one of our classes, you are welcome to return at a future class. Simply fill out a new registration and application on our website. You will still need to redo any pre-training requirements such as an Orientation, Pre-Training Drug Screen when applicable or any other requirements of the class.
